The Role

 

We’re looking for a high-energy, results-oriented Sales Hunter to lead our outbound growth efforts. In this Director level position, you will own the full business development lifecycle—targeting and securing new clients, building strategic relationships at the C-level, and positioning our agency as a critical growth partner.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings a strong and active network in the digital/eCommerce space and within retail and DTC, and is motivated by closing high-impact deals.

 

 

Responsibilities

A Director of Business Development's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

 

New Business Development

  • Own and drive the end-to-end sales process: prospecting, pitching, proposal development, and closing.
  • Cultivate new enterprise and mid-market client relationships, especially within digital-first and DTC brands.
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline via cold outreach, referrals, and strategic networking.
  • Partner with strategy and client service teams to craft custom proposals aligned with client objectives.

Industry Networking & Partnerships

  • Leverage your existing network in the digital, eCommerce, retail, and DTC ecosystems to generate introductions and referrals.
  • Represent the agency at major events, conferences, and partner summits.
  • Stay informed on digital trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies.

Strategic Thinking & Internal Collaboration

  • Collaborate with marketing and leadership to refine go-to-market strategies.
  • Identify market opportunities and inform service or positioning innovations.
  • Help build the tools, processes, and systems that will scale business development efforts.

Qualifications

In addition, our "ideal candidate" has the following skills & experience: 

 

  • 7+ years of proven success in sales or business development within a digital agency, consultancy, or martech company.
  • Consistent track record of exceeding $1M+ in annual new business targets.
  • Deep, well-maintained network in the digital/eCommerce space and across retail, DTC, or CPG brands.
  • Self-starter with a true “hunter” mentality—driven, strategic, and results-oriented.
  • Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM and sales platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing, omnichannel strategy, paid media, CRM, or analytics.
